Day 4: The Heart Needs Regular Checkups

Reading: Psalm 139:23-24

Devotional: David's prayer is bold: "Search me, O God, and know my heart." When was the last time you invited God to truly examine your heart? Just as physical hearts need regular medical checkups, your spiritual heart needs consistent examination through prayer, God's Word, and honest reflection. Don't wait until you're in crisis to assess your heart's condition. Make daily checkups a habit. Each evening, pause and reflect: Did I hurt someone today? Do I need to apologize? Is there unforgiveness I'm harboring? Is bitterness taking root? When you allow God and trusted spiritual mentors to diagnose your heart regularly, you prevent lifetime problems by addressing daily issues before they become infected wounds.

Reflection Question: When did I last honestly ask God to search my heart and reveal what needs healing?
