Day 4: From Ownership to Stewardship
Reading: Psalm 24:1 -- The psalmist declares that the earth and everything in it belongs to God, including all who dwell upon it.
Devotional: One of the most liberating shifts a believer can make is moving from an ownership mindset to a stewardship mindset. When you believe you own your life, your money, and your time, you carry the full weight of protecting and managing all of it. Anxiety becomes your constant companion. But when you recognize that God is the owner and you are simply the manager of what He has entrusted to you, everything changes. A manager's job is not to hoard resources but to deploy them wisely according to the owner's purposes. Generosity becomes natural. Service becomes a joy. And the crushing pressure of self-sufficiency begins to lift because the ultimate responsibility rests with God, not with you.
Personal Reflection: In what specific areas -- finances, time, talents, relationships -- do you struggle most to release control to God? What would it look like to truly manage those areas for His purposes rather than your own?
Practical Application: Choose one tangible act of stewardship this week. It might be giving financially in an area where you have held back, volunteering your time, or using a skill you possess to serve someone else. Do it as an act of worship, not obligation.
