Day 2: Covenant Over Contract

Reading: Matthew 19:4-6

Devotional: Jesus did not leave the definition of marriage to culture or convenience. He pointed directly back to the beginning, reminding us that God established the pattern before any human institution could claim authority over it. Marriage is a covenant, not a contract. Contracts are conditional. Covenants are unconditional. When feelings fade, when circumstances shift, when bodies age and finances strain, covenant love says I am still here. This kind of commitment does not come naturally. It requires daily surrender to God's design over our own preferences. Ask yourself today: am I treating my most important relationships as covenants or as contracts I can exit when conditions change?
